WJZ 13 in Baltimore yesterday profiled the continuing story of the lawsuit facing the State of Maryland brought by supporters of its historically black colleges and universities. The trial, which nears closing arguments in the next few weeks, alleges that Maryland has consistently underfunded its HBCUs, and deprived its students of comparable resources and learning advantages present at its predominantly white colleges.
