Fort Valley State student organizations will compete in a cooking challenge on Wednesday to raise money for healthy lifestyle awareness. The groups will turn a $75 budget, a mystery ingredient revealed at the time of the competition, and a 30-minute time limit into a model of healthy eating for the campus.

Four teams will compete for a $300 prize, which will be used to advocate healthy initiatives on campus.

“We want to encourage healthy habits by highlighting healthy eating,” said Shirley Ellis, FVSU College Against Cancer chapter adviser and communication station manager. “We want to get students cooking and using healthier ingredients.”

It will be the second annual cook-off benefit at FVSU. The event’s reigning champion is the school’s undergraduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi.
